a little about myself, (but only the trivial):

favorite foods:

1.butter

2.sourcream

3.brie 

4.creamcheese

 5.mayonaise

favorite music: recently, violent femmes, pj harvey, velvet underground

favorite book: venus in furs

favorite T.V: haven't really cared since they took female rollerderby off the air

favorite saying: "what the fuck do i care" (it can be used in response to anything!)

theories:
1. don't take yourself too seriously, life is but a biological state thrust upon inconsequential matter.
2. Don't fear death, don't fear pain, fear fear, for your body is little else but a vessel for your convictions
3. remember to laugh, because life is a joke and if you're not laughing, you didn't get it.

I love art.  besides art i find myself interested in only the same things that the lower mamals are such as sleeping, eating, and sex so i guess it could be argued that it's art that makes me human. 

I'm married to a beautiful woman and we have a lovely daughter.  in that regard i'm far luckier than i deserve to be and i find it a strong case against the validity of karma

I'm a sort-of ex alcoholic. that means i attend A.A. sporadically and get drunk in the days between and then feel guilty about it.

i'm a soldier cause i made some really bad choices.

i'm a pacifist and a socialist but not very good or commited to either, i guess those are more like theoretical convictions.

i think i'm a lot smarter than i am but since I'm acknowleding that here maybe i'm coming to grips with the fact that i'm not fucking goethe, kant or jung.

i wish i was smarter than i am, that's true, and wittier and more charming. oh, and original, i wish so much that i was more original but more and more i realize the futility of fighting against commonality.   

overall, though,  i'm basically ok with who i've turned out to be, i think i'm pretty decent and that i have impeccable taste in all the arts so if you're reading this recommend something to me, i'll make sure to return the favor
